Itchy Scratchy Clinics are open to the public. HSTJ provides free parasite treatment, and asks for a donation form those that are able to make one. At these clinics, the public is also educated about humane treatment, proper nutrition and the importance of sterilization. Each individual is encouraged to return with their animal to our next sterilization clinic.

HSTJ's January 24, 2010 Sterilization Clinic in Colonia Los Pinos

On Sunday, January 24, 2010, we visited the home of Adela, an elementary school teacher in the Colonia Los Pinos. Adela lives modestly and uses all of her resources to rescue animals in her area. She has a network of fosters who care for many of the animals to find them homes in Tijuana.

HSTJ performed a clinic at Adela's home spaying and neutering 26 of her animals, 20 dogs and 6 cats. As part of HSTJ's mission, we assist people who resuce animals, in addition to the sterilization clinic, we were able to leave hundreds of pounds of food for Adela and her network of volunteers, food that was genersouly donated by a distributor in Carlsbad and a vendor in Ohio. Thank you so much for your generosity!
