February 10th Sterilization Clinic in Colonia Salvatierra

Thank you to our new volunteer, Enshurah, for joining us - you are a wonderful addition to our group!
Sunday's clinic at the DIF center in the Colonia Salvatierra was of course a successful day!

Not only was the weather beautiful and warm creating an ideal atmosphere for post-op care, but we sterilized 23 animals!

14 Female dogs and 4 female cats were spayed and 2 male cats were neutered.

3 female dogs were treated for mange and given vitamins and extra food and will return for our next clinic.
Here are some of our patients
And our wonderful volunteers in Prep and Recovery
Our next clinic will be in March - Stay tuned for the exact date.

We are always welcoming animal lovers to volunteer with us. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Michelle at hstj_donate@yahoo.com

One other exciting piece of news is that we found a home for one of our rescues! Her name is Rita and she is a 1 and 1/2 year old Chow/Akita Mix.
One of our volunteers, Lety, found Rita near her home by a ballet studio. Rita was wandering the streets looking for food. She looked like she had recently had some puppies as well. Lety posted fliers in the neighborhood to be sure Rita was not lost.
After no response, Lety fostered Rita for 3 months, got her weight up, had her spayed and vaccinated.
At the clinic this past Sunday, Rita was delivered to her new home on an 11 acre property in Poway. She could not be happier. Thanks to the kindness of animal lovers out there, Rita was given a second chance!!
